Klostermansfeld liegt etwa 7 km nordwestlich von Eisleben. Die Gemeinde gehört der Verbandsgemeinde Mansfelder Grund-Helbra an, die ihren Verwaltungssitz in Helbra hat.
Wie die anderen Gemeinden in der Verbandsgemeinde ist auch Klostermansfeld nicht sehr groß. Seine größte Ost-West-Ausdehnung beträgt 5 km, vom nördlichsten zum südlichsten Punkt misst sie 4,7 km. Die folgende Tabelle zeigt die Flächenverteilung der Gemeinde. Wasserflächen gibt es in Klostermansfeld sehr wenige, sie wurden deshalb, wie Verkehrsflächen auch, den sie umgebenden Flächen zugeordnet. Haldenfläche bezeichnet die Fläche, die durch drei Kupferschieferhalden bedeckt wird.
