Das Eberhard-Ludwigs-Gymnasium ist eine traditionsreiche Bildungseinrichtung in Stuttgart. Sie geht zurück auf das 1686 gegründete Gymnasium illustre und wurde ab 1806 auch das Königliche Gymnasium genannt.
Das Eberhard-Ludwigs-Gymnasium wurde als humanistisches Gymnasium gegründet, daher ist Latein von der 5. bis zur 10. Klasse Pflicht. 1969 wurde Musik als Profilfach eingeführt, das heißt, dass alle Schüler in der 5. Klasse 3 Stunden, in der 6. Klasse 2 Stunden und in der 7. Klasse 4 Stunden Musikunterricht in der Woche haben. Dann wird zwischen Musik, Altgriechisch und Französisch als 5. Hauptfach gewählt.
