Die Burgsitzschule Spangenberg ist eine kooperative Gesamtschule im Schwalm-Eder-Kreis und es gibt sie seit dem Jahr 1910. Direktorin ist seit Schuljahresbeginn 2007/2008 Sieglinde Strieder. Zurzeit gibt es 72 Lehrer und 929 Schüler in 42 Klassen an der BSS. Die BSS ist Mitglied im Schulverbund Melsungen.
