Zur Landesgartenschau 2003 wurde das Gelände hinter der St. Antonius Kirche und Bruno Kleine gestaltet. Auf dem ehemaligen Gelände der van Delden-Spinnerei haben Städtebauer den Inselpark Gronau errichtet. Es wurden Grachten eingezogen und so einzelne Inseln geschaffen, die eine jeweils individuelle Gestaltung erhalten haben. Auf der Garten- und Wasserinsel befinden sich unterschiedliche Unterhaltungsmöglichkeiten, alles in enger Nachbarschaft und durch romantische Wasserläufe getrennt.
