Die Tverenerheide ist heute ein wunderschönes Naherholungsgebiet. Früher ein Gewerbegebiet zur Kiesgewinnung und teilweise auch eine ehemalige Mülldeponie. Mittlerweile weiden dort Halloween-Rinder und neben Freizeitwanderern erfreuen sich auch Nordic-Walker daran.
