Von der Zeit der gallischen Stadt, die zum römischen Lager mit dem Namen "Tres Tabernae" wurde, bis heute bewahrt Saverne die Spuren seiner historischen Rolle und seines früheren Lebens: Überreste der römischen Stadtmauer, mittelalterliche Stadtmauer, romanische Kirche, Kloster, bemerkenswerte Häuser... Die Stadt präsentiert sich in einer außergewöhnlichen natürlichen Umgebung am Fuße bewaldeter Berge, die von Burgen gekrönt sind, die sie wie Wächter umgeben.
