Die ehemalige Abteikirche der Abbaye aux Dames liegt in Saintes, einer französischen Stadt im Département Charente-Maritime in der Region Nouvelle-Aquitaine, am rechten Ufer des Flusses Charente und circa 95 km nördlich von Bordeaux.Sie ist eine romanische Kirche aus dem 11. und 12. Jahrhundert und berühmt für ihre Fassade und deren Archivoltenportale und Kapitelle, und für ihren exzellenten Skulpturenschmuck. Viollet-le-Duc ließ Repliken der Archivoltenbögen und der Kapitelle des Hauptportals, zusammen mit denen des Südportals von Aulnay, im „Museum der Denkmäler Frankreichs“ im Palais de Chaillot, am Trocadéro in Paris aufstellen, in Vertretung der Romanischen Baukunst in der Saintonge.
