Am 20. Januar 1992 verunglückte ein Airbus A320 auf dem Air-Inter-Flug 148 in den Vogesen nahe dem Odilienberg. Der Unfallort liegt auf dem Berg La Bloss . Bei dem Unglück kamen 87 der 96 Insassen ums Leben.
Am 20. Januar 1992 um 19:20 Uhr schlug der Airbus A320-111 der französischen Fluggesellschaft Air Inter während des Landeanflugs auf den Flughafen Straßburg südlich des Odilienberges am benachbarten Berg „La Bloss“ auf. Die Maschine befand sich auf einem Linienflug vom Flughafen Lyon-Satolas nach Straßburg. Die Piloten wurden, da Air Inter das Flugzeug nicht mit einem Bodenannäherungs-Warnsystem ausgestattet hatte, nicht vor dem drohenden Aufprall gewarnt. Der Unfall ereignete sich bei Nacht, Nebel bzw. tiefen Wolken und leichtem Schneefall.
