Die Ney-Kaserne wurde von 1833 bis 1842 von Oberst Firmin-Claude Parnajon gebaut. Sie bildet ein "U", 170 Meter mal 95 Meter, das sich zum Place de la République, dem ehemaligen Place Royale, hin öffnet. Im Jahr 1854 schnitzten die Brüder Antoine Husson, Francois-Desiré Husson und Gustave Hennequin Waffentrophäen in Hochreliefs am Eingang der Kaserne.
