Der Velebit ist ein Gebirgszug an der Küstenregion Kroatiens. Er ist zum Naturpark erklärt worden. Im Gebirgsgebiet liegen zwei Nationalparks und nahe der Stadt Gospić der staatlich geschützte Naturpark Velebit.
Der Velebit bildet eine Klimabarriere zwischen dem Mittelmeerklima und dem Gebirgsklima im Landesinneren.
