Die Schlacht von Solferino war die Entscheidungsschlacht im Sardinischen Krieg zwischen dem Kaisertum Österreich und dem Königreich Sardinien mit dessen Verbündetem Frankreich unter Napoléon III. Durch die Niederlage der Österreicher bei Solferino am 24. Juni 1859 wurde der Krieg von Sardinien gewonnen und der Weg zur Einigung Italiens eröffnet.
