Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg war Rimini eine der am stärksten zerstörten Städte Italiens. Der wunderschöne Palazzo Lettini aus dem 16. Jahrhundert wurde durch Bomangriffen dem Erdboden gleichgemacht. Es liegt immer noch in Trümmern. Königin Christina von Schweden wurde am 2. Dezember 1655 in diesem Palast empfangen.
