Der Aufstieg zum Umbrailpass beginnen wir von Bormio. Dieser Aufstieg ist eigentlich der Aufstieg zum Passo dello Stelvio (von Bormio aus). Nur 3 km vor dem Gipfel biegen wir links zum Umbrailpass (Schweiz) ab. Von hier aus steigen wir ins Dorf Santa Maria ab. Und fahren weiter nach Pratto allo Stelvio. Von hier aus erklimmen wir den Stelvio mit seinen berüchtigten 48 Serpentinen. Hier hat man einen herrlichen Blick auf die Straße/Kurven, die noch bevorstehen. Vom Gipfel steigen wir wieder nach Bormio ab.
