Das Qanat von Raschpëtzer[1] liegt nordöstlich von Helmsange in der Gemeinde Walferdingen, 10 km nördlich von Luxemburg-Stadt. Ein Qanat ist ein Grundwassermanagementsystem, das aus vertikalen Schächten besteht, die mit einem geneigten Tunnel verbunden sind, der für die Frischwasserversorgung ausgelegt ist.
Der Raschpëtzer ist ein besonders gut erhaltenes Beispiel eines Qanats und wohl das umfangreichste System seiner Art nördlich der Alpen. Es wird seit 40 Jahren systematisch ausgegraben. Bis heute wurden etwa 330 m der Gesamtlänge des 600 m langen Tunnels erkundet. Dreizehn der 20 bis 25 Brunnen wurden entdeckt.
