Eine Wanderung entlang des einzigen Stausees der Niederlande ist im Ansteltal möglich. Seit 1974 verhindert dieser Stausee Überschwemmungen in Eygelshoven,
sauberes Trinkwasser und ist ein besonders beliebter Ort für Natur- und Vogelliebhaber.
Zugvögel machen eine Pause auf dem Wasser, der Eisvogel nistet an den Ufern des Baches, exotische Enten stehlen allen die Show und sogar der seltene Fischadler
beobachtet wurde. Die Wanderung durch dieses inoffizielle Vogelschutzgebiet ist abwechslungsreich: Buchenwald, Ackerland, vorbei an Schlössern und Bauernhöfen... Auf der Brücke hat man einen tollen Blick über den Stausee.
