Hier stand früher ein Schloss. Das Schloss hieß zunächst 'Haus Berch Eyck'. Während des Achtzigjährigen Krieges wurde es eines der vielen Verteidigungswerke rund um Den Bosch. Feldherr Maurits nahm das Schloss damals ein, verlor es jedoch wieder an die Spanier.
Das Schloss von Bergeijk existierte lange Zeit als Ruine. Im 19. Jahrhundert wurden die Gräben aufgefüllt. Vor etwa hundert Jahren war auf dem Gelände nichts mehr vom Schloss zu sehen. Bis vor einigen Jahren die Konturen des Schlosses wieder markiert wurden.
Das Luftschloss von Bergeijk ist einer der Standorte an der Fahrradroute 'Die tanzenden Katzen von Bergeijk'.
