Der Start ist am Bahnhof von Simpelveld. Das Parken ist hier kostenlos. Der Bahnhof erstrahlt wieder in altem Glanz und wird nun von der ZLSM als Touristenattraktion genutzt. Hier fahren regelmäßig die Dampflok und der Schienenbus ab.
Die Strecke ist eine schöne Panoramastrecke und verläuft teilweise am Bach entlang und durch Felder und entlang der Bahnlinie.
