Die Route beginnt im alten, moorlandwirtschaftlichen Streudorf Kiel-Windeweer. Seit 2006 hat das Dorf den Status 'geschütztes Dorfbild'. Sie wandern auf Radwegen, kleinen Landstraßen und durch den 1989 gepflanzten Drevenbos. Sehenswürdigkeiten, die Sie antreffen, sind das im Kirchen befindliche Amshoff und das Rijksmonument Borg Welgelegen.
