Mechels Broek hike 5 km

Hike by Natuurpunt through the Mechelner Broek. A circular hike that starts and ends at the Natuurpunt visitor center near the bridge over the Dijle in Muizen. There are parking facilities available there.
It is a circular hike of 5 km with two extension options: one to the observation tower, another to the observation station by the water. The longest hike would then be 7.8 km.
This water-rich area offers a home, among other things, to numerous species of ducks: mallard, shoveler, pochard, pintail, gadwall, tufted duck, common eider, northern teal, wigeon. The wigeon is a duck species that is particularly prominent here. The Beneden Dijle Nature Study Group hiked here and inventoried the water birds.
