The name of the path refers to a figure from popular belief. The tormentor Kludde can take the form of humans, plants, and animals. He wanders around at night and attacks people by the neck. His victim is forced to carry him on their back all night long. According to legend, there was a brave woman in Wichelen who threw a cloth into the monster's mouth. The next day, one of the servants could be identified as Kludde by the fibers seen between his teeth.
