This 7km walking tour trough the Arboretum de Groenendaal will allow you to discover some 400 species of native and exotic trees. Leave the hustle and bustle of the Brussels Ring behind and immerse yourself in the greenery of the Sonian Forest. The priory of Groenendaal is located in the middle of the Sonian forest and, about six centuries ago, the Augustinian monks found there silence and peace for a contemplative life. You also walk past the old racecourts and the Royal Loge.
Suggested route on the Zoniënwoud virtual hiking network. This walk is not marked on the ground but relies on the virtual waypoints.
You can also follow the wooden posts with orange arrows.
You can start this walk at the Groenendaal Castle or at the Bosmuseum.
