The Broichbachtal is one of the gems in this region when it comes to recreation. The area has many lakes and in between are easily accessible hiking trails. This walking route can be shortened in various ways.
Halfway the main route is a free accessible zoo with playground. The castle Ottenfeld is not accessible, but is beautifully and quietly located. At the end of the route you will approach one of the oldest plane trees in Europe. To see it you have to walk into a small road that is 'temporarily' closed due to an inaccessible bridge over the stream.
