Discover all benefitsThe Marguerite Route (Danish: Margueritruten) is Denmark’s best-known tourist driving route, winding like a web across the entire country for 3,700 to 4,218 kilometres. It was officially opened in 1991 by Queen Margrethe II, after whom it is named; the daisy is her favourite flower.
Signposting: The route is easy to follow using brown signs featuring a white daisy.
Sights: Along the route are more than 750 to 1,000 attractions, including castles, UNESCO World Heritage Sites (such as Kronborg Castle and Roskilde Cathedral), national parks and picturesque villages.
Use: The route is ideal for driving holidays, but is also popular with motorcyclists and cyclists. Travellers with a motorhome or caravan should take care, as the route often follows narrow secondary roads and passes under low bridges.
