The Main Square of Sant Joan de les Abadesses, composed of four facades, is part of the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia.
It is composed of four facades: that of the Vilella building decanted to the east, with three vaults and three floors. It has balconies and windows and a mosaic with a saint. The Blanxart building, also with three floors, has six arcades or vaults on the façade and has three balconies on the first floor and four more balconies on the second floor. The buildings of Can Ballana and Can Soldevila, the latter remodeled, has four and two arcades respectively, leaving a set of six arcades on the façade decanted at noon of the whole square. The Town Hall building was once vault-free, but they are currently refurbishing it by building four quite spectacular arches compared to the others. In the square there are four lampposts, located on each façade decanted to the east. Commercial activity and on Sundays there is a market.
