Climbing to the enchanting Cova Tallada cave in Denia

On this walk, we visit the Cova Tallada cave.

Start at the Las Rotas car park and follow the asphalt road to the entrance. During busy periods (usually from June 15 to October 15 ), access is strictly regulated. You must apply for a free online permit in advance via the official website of the Valencian Natural Parks (parquesnaturales.gva.es), and this is checked here. From here, the route is marked with the white and yellow stripes that indicate a local GR trail.

It is about a 1.5 kilometer walk (about 45 to 60 minutes each way).

Difficulty: Moderate to strenuous. The path is rugged, rocky, and uneven, with steep sections and cables or ropes attached to the cliff for extra grip. Sturdy shoes (no flip-flops) are absolutely necessary.

Along the way, there are stairs and sections secured by a chain . To reach the cave at the end, you have to scramble over the rocks. There is little shade.
