Vertheuil is a French commune in the Gironde department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region with 1,314 inhabitants. It belongs to the Lesparre-Médoc arrondissement and the Le Nord-Médoc canton. The inhabitants are called Vertheuillais. Vertheuil is located about 50 kilometers north-northwest of Bordeaux in the Médoc. The commune area is part of the Médoc Regional Natural Park. Vertheuil is surrounded by the neighboring communes of Saint-Germain-d’Esteuil to the north and west, Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne to the northeast, Saint-Estèphe to the east, and Cissac-Médoc to the south.
