Last update May 3, 2023: two crossings of the N78 in Maaseik are avoided by following the bike path directly along the Maas.

The route heads towards Belgium, passing through Kelpen-Oler, Hunsel, and Neeritter. From Kessenich (B) you cycle to Geistingen, where you first encounter the Maas. Through Aldeneik and a somewhat tricky passage at Maaseik, you reach the pilgrimage site Heppeneert. From there, you follow the concrete bike path along the winter dike of the Maas for many kilometers (even longer than all other routes from TWC 't Ventieleke that run south along the Maas).

Via the ferry to Berg a/d Maas, you reach the Netherlands again, specifically the area known as Land van Swentibold. Through the floodplains between Obbicht and Illikhoven, you cycle to Roosteren. Between Grevenbicht and Illikhoven, several measures have been taken to implement project Grensmaas. As a result, the tourist road Visserweert - Roosteren has been closed to public traffic, and from Illikhoven, the main road to Roosteren is used.

Just before Ohé, you cycle around the Oude Maas, past Stevensweert. Then you go via Maasbracht and the bridge over the Maas to Heel, and via camping Heelderpeel to Grathem.

After that, you go back via country roads towards Ospel and back to Heusden.
