This is the second chapel of the sanctuary of Bom Jesus.
This chapel depicts the moment when Jesus prays in the Garden of Olives (Gethsemane) , just before he is betrayed and arrested. Jesus prays alone while his disciples Peter, James and John fall asleep. An angel appears and offers him a chalice, symbolizing the suffering he will have to endure.
Inside is a group of statues : Jesus kneels in prayer. The sleeping disciples lie on the ground. The angel with the chalice hangs above him.
