En tiempos antiguos, sobre el Sambre, se alzaba el antiguo castillo feudal de La Buissière. Desapareció durante la revolución francesa, mientras a sus pies, familias de canteros tallaban el mármol en la ladera, al azar de las concesiones. En 1868 se fundó la sierra de mármol Sainte-Anne, hoy convertida en un magnífico lugar para pasear.
