En la esquina de la calle Bietstraat se encuentra una capilla de 1694. La calle conducía hacia y a través de la señoría de Ter Biest. Esa señoría pertenecía al Hof van Izegem y estaba en el extremo occidental de la parroquia de Roeselare, cerca de los Bosques de Veld. Sin embargo, el nombre de la calle ha sido deformado. Tal vez en algún momento debió llamarse Bieststraat, pero al elaborar el Atlas de las Caminos Vecinales ya se hablaba de Bietstraat. Posiblemente fue un error. Por lo tanto, el nombre de la calle no tiene nada que ver con el cultivo agrícola.
