Pedro el Grande tiene una estatua en el parque Warande de Bruselas que recuerda su notable visita en 1717. Durante una fiesta, bebió tanto vino que tuvo que vomitar en una fuente, lo que los bruselenses eternizaron con un texto lúdico en el estanque de la fuente.
La estatua en sí fue donada en 1854 por el príncipe ruso Antoli Demitov en recuerdo de esta visita histórica.
El texto en la fuente original dice: "Pedro Alexiowitz, zar de Moscú, gran duque, sentado al borde de esta fuente, ha enriquecido las aguas con el vino que ha bebido, el 16 de abril de 1717, a las tres de la tarde". Aunque el zar era conocido por sus ambiciones de modernización, en Bruselas se le recuerda por su comportamiento extravagantemente bebedor.
