Thorpark es un área de 10 km² detrás de la antigua mina de Waterschei. El área tiene tantas cualidades que se integrará en el Parque Nacional. Aquí encontrarás todo lo que los Altos Campos tienen para ofrecer: montañas de piedra minera en medio de brezos y bosques de pinos, un hermoso valle de arroyo, enebros y dunas de tierra. Algunos edificios destacados adornan el paisaje: la colonia infantil de As y la mina de carbón de Waterschei (Thor Central). Ya se puede caminar extensamente, pero aún no hay una puerta de acceso en la conocida receta de las otras puertas.
