Joachimsthal es una pequeña ciudad en el distrito de Barnim, en Brandeburgo, y sede administrativa de la oficina de Joachimsthal, que incluye otras tres comunidades. Los habitantes de los alrededores llaman a Joachimsthal Juchte o Juchtebüdel.
Joachimsthal se encuentra en la histórica región de Uckermark, junto al lago Werbellin y el lago Grimnitz, y forma parte de la reserva de biosfera de Schorfheide-Chorin. La ciudad se encuentra en la transición natural del paisaje montañoso de Uckermark a la Schorfheide.
