Döblitz se encuentra en el valle del Saale, en el distrito de Saalekreis, al noroeste de Halle. Es parte del parque natural "Bajo Valle del Saale".
Döblitz fue mencionado por primera vez en un documento de donación en 1286 bajo el nombre de Dobelicz y, al igual que la mayor parte de los asentamientos al este del Saale, tiene origen eslavo. El lugar noble pertenecía al distrito de Saale del arzobispado de Magdeburgo. Con su anexión a Prusia, Döblitz pasó a formar parte del ducatado de Magdeburgo de Brandeburgo-Prusia a partir de 1680.
