La estación Essen-Holthausen es una de las dos estaciones de S-Bahn en el distrito de Überruhr de Essen. Se encuentra en Überruhr-Holthausen. La otra estación de S-Bahn es Essen-Überruhr en Überruhr-Hinsel.
La estación cuenta con dos andenes laterales. Estos son accesibles mediante escaleras y ascensores. De estos dos andenes laterales, una estructura de puente conduce a la Langenberger Straße, que se encuentra a un poco más de 100 metros al este, donde se encuentra la parada Holthausen Bf de Ruhrbahn, que lleva el nombre de la estación.
