El Worm es un río fronterizo que serpentea por el valle. En Alemania, a menudo causa "molestias" debido a grandes inundaciones. El curso original del río está siendo restaurado, lo que debería permitir controlar el agua excesiva. Muchos embalses y lagos naturales están hoy protegidos. El martinete y el castor son activos en esta reserva natural.
