Oliva es un municipio de la Comunidad Valenciana, España. Está situado en el sureste de la provincia de Valencia, en la comarca de la Safor, limitando con la provincia de Alicante. Contaba con 25.119 habitantes en 2021 .[1]
El topónimo proviene del árabe اوربة , de posible origen prerromano. Posteriormente se la denominó Awriba o Awruba, y en valenciano alternaron los términos Oriva y Oliva hasta el siglo XVI, prevaleciendo este último finalmente.[2]
