Chamberí es un distrito perteneciente a la ciudad de Madrid y organizado administrativamente en seis barrios . Forma parte de la llamada almendra central de la ciudad, cuenta con una población cercana a los 150.000 habitantes y está delimitado por las siguientes calles:
Durante la Edad Media, las tierras que ocupan hoy en día el distrito de Chamberí pertenecieron a la Orden del Templo hasta su disolución a principios del siglo XIV. Posteriormente pasarían a formar parte del Consejo de Fuencarral. En esta época, estos terrenos estaban cubiertos de bosques y eran utilizados por miembros de la Corte para realizar cacerías.
