Segunda etapa del recorrido de aproximadamente 750km que discurre desde Albacete en el este de España hasta Lisboa (Portugal).

La etapa comienza con un descenso desde Alcaraz seguido de una ruta tranquila, pero algo aburrida, hasta Valdepeñas. Después de unos 20 km hay que subir para llegar a la animada Villanueva de la Fuente. Después de eso, cada 10-15 km hay un lugar que proporciona algo de variedad. Los últimos 30 km de Cózar a Valdepeñas son por una carretera algo más transitada e interminable. En la llanura, el viento tiene rienda suelta.
