La iglesia abacial, que data de los siglos XI al XVII, es un bello ejemplo del arte románico, influenciado por las regiones de Saintonge y Poitou, con su girola, su campanario octogonal y su decoración esculpida de gran calidad. Fundada en el siglo XI por Guillermo VIII de Aquitania, la abadía albergó en el siglo XII una comunidad de monjes miembros de la Orden de San Agustín. Devastada varias veces (Guerra de los Cien Años, Guerras de Religión), fue reconstruida en el siglo XVIII y vendida como propiedad nacional en 1792. Durante el verano se exponen diversas obras de arte.
