El círculo de piedras de Castlerigg , cerca de Keswick en Inglaterra, es uno de los crómlechs mayores del Reino Unido y el que tiene, probablemente, el asentamiento más impresionante de todos,[1] además de ser el más visitado de Cumbria.[2] Cada año, miles de personas recorren un corto trecho entre Keswick y la meseta de Castlerigg Fell y Chestnut Hill, en la que se encuentra el monumento. Esta meseta es el centro elevado de un anfiteatro natural creado por las colinas de los alrededores y desde dentro del círculo es posible ver algunos de los picos más altos de Cumbria: Helvellyn, Skiddaw, Grasmoor y Blencathra.
