Welshpool es una villa en el noreste del condado galés de Powys. Está situada a seis kilómetros de la frontera galesa-inglesa, y está al lado del río Severn, el río más largo del Reino Unido. La Canal Unida de Shropshire atraviesa la villa. Según el censo de 2001, la población de Welshpool es 6.239,[1] y por eso es la cuarta localidad más grande de Powys, detrás de Newtown, Ystradgynlais y Brecon.
