El Triángulo de las Bermudas es un área geográfica con forma de triángulo equilátero situada en el océano Atlántico, entre las islas Bermudas, Puerto Rico y la ciudad estadounidense de Miami . Al unir estos tres puntos con una línea imaginaria se forma un triángulo de unos 1600 a 1800 km de lado, y una superficie de 1,1 millones de km² aproximadamente.
El término fue creado en 1953 por varios escritores que publicaron artículos en revistas acerca de la presunta peligrosidad de la zona. Sin embargo científicos han registrado olas en esa zona de 18 metros de altura y teorizan que pudieran alcanzar los 30 metros de altura, con lo que al menos explica el temor del tráfico marítimo.[1][2][3]
