Le canal Ems-Vechte (abrégé : EVK) relie la Vechte à Nordhorn à l'Ems à Hanekenfähr, au sud de Lingen.
L'EVK mesure 22,95 km de long et possède deux écluses. Le profil a été construit selon le profil normal et a une largeur de fond de 8,5 m et une profondeur de 1,8 m. En surface, la largeur est de 16 m. L'écluse d'Ems à Hanekenfähr mesure 33 × 6,3 m avec une profondeur de seuil de 2 m. L'écluse de raccordement à l'extrémité ouest à Nordhorn descend vers la Vechte. À Nordhorn, il existe un canal de raccordement en direction ouest vers le canal Nordhorn-Almelo. Au nord, une connexion existe via le canal Sud-Nord vers le canal Coevorden-Piccardie, le canal Schöninghsdorf-Hoogeveen et le canal Haren-Rütenbrock. Le canal Ems-Vechte compte dix ponts, dont la plupart sont des ponts tournants.
