Carcans est une commune du Sud-Ouest de la France, dans le département de la Gironde, en région Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
Située dans le Médoc à cinquante kilomètres de Bordeaux, dans les Landes du Médoc, Carcans est une station balnéaire jouissant à la fois de l'océan Atlantique et du plus grand lac naturel d'eau douce de France.
