Milhars est une commune française située dans le nord-ouest du département du Tarn, en région Occitanie. Sur le plan historique et culturel, la commune est dans le Gaillacois, un pays qui doit sa notoriété à la qualité de ses vins. Exposée à un climat océanique altéré, elle est drainée par l'Aveyron, le Cérou, le ruisseau d'Aymer, le ruisseau de Bonnan et par deux autres cours d'eau. La commune possède un patrimoine naturel remarquable : deux sites Natura 2000 , un espace protégé et cinq zones naturelles d'intérêt écologique, faunistique et floristique.
