Couflens est une commune française, située dans le sud-ouest du département de l'Ariège en région Occitanie. Sur le plan historique et culturel, la commune fait partie du Couserans, pays aux racines gasconnes structuré par le cours du Salat. Frontalière avec l'Espagne et dominée par le Mont Rouch , dans les Pyrénées centrales aux sources du Salat, elle est à 30 km au sud de Saint-Girons.
