Arnay-le-Duc est une commune française située dans le canton d'Arnay-le-Duc du département de la Côte-d'Or, en région Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.Cette commune est située entre le Morvan et l’Auxois. Il s’agit d’un carrefour où se rejoignent la RN 6 et la RN 81 qui desservent le centre, via Autun ; ces routes étant tracées sur d’anciennes voies de communication d’abord gallo-romaines , puis médiévales entre le couloir rhodanien et les foires champenoises.Source de la rivière Arroux qui se jette dans la Loire à Digoin .
