Pontypridd RFC est un club de rugby à XV gallois basé dans la ville de Pontypridd, et qui évolue dans la Welsh Premier Division. Ses joueurs sont susceptibles d’être sélectionnés par les Cardiff Blues, franchise professionnelle qui dispute le Pro14 et la Coupe d’Europe.
Pontypridd, petite ville minière située au fond d’une vallée, a longtemps tenu tête aux grands clubs du rugby gallois, bien que ses joueurs aient souvent répondu aux sirènes de Cardiff, Newport ou Llanelli. Fondé en 1875, le club fait partie des onze clubs qui instituent la fédération galloise en 1881 et l’un de ses joueurs, Edward Treharne participe à la toute première rencontre de l’équipe nationale galloise en 1881.
