Carlow est une ville du comté de Carlow en Irlande. Elle est située à 84 km au sud-ouest de Dublin, sur la rivière Barrow. Elle comptait 23 030 habitants en 2011.
La ville a été fondée en 1180 par Guillaume le Maréchal, comte de Pembroke et roi du Leinster afin de fortifier un passage fréquenté sur la rivière Barrow. Il y fait bâtir un imposant château.
